Between 2013-2020 we have helped Tullow Oil and local communities through the process of site assessment, extensive engagement with communities and government to agreeing access to community land which minimises impacts to livelihoods, cultural heritage and environment. We also helped prepare Land Access Frameworks and Resettlement and Livelihood Restoration Frameworks.

We worked closely with a major oil and gas company to identify and mitigate potential human rights impacts from its oil exploration and pipeline activities. The HR assessment focused on the key issues of access to land, water and the voluntary principles on security and human rights.

We worked closely with an international gold mining company and the Tanzanian government, local communities and NGOs to develop a closure plan which would reduce the huge social risks (health, safety and security) of illegal artisanal mining and encourage alternative livelihoods from sustainable farming, forestry and enterprise uses of the site.
